Here in the state of Victoria, you need a Roadworthy Certificate when you buy or re-register a used car to ensure it’s in appropriate condition to be safe on our roads.
A RWC can only be issued by a licensed vehicle tester (like us!) in accordance with the Victorian Certificate of Roadworthiness, however if a vehicle fails to meet requirements, a list of items to be repaired or replaced within 7 days will be provided to you.
When you bring your vehicle in for our team to conduct a roadworthy inspection, we follow a list of checks that has been compiled by VicRoads, including:
- Wheels and tyres
- Steering and suspension
- Brakes
- Seats and seat belts
- Lamps, signals, reflectors
- Exhaust and emission controls
- Windscreen and windows
- Windscreen wipers, washers etc
- Body and chassis
- Engine and driveline
* As well as any additional items that are relevant to your make and model of vehicle.
Once you have your roadworthy certificate, it’s valid for 30 days to allow for the sale and transfer of your vehicle to be completed.
Our workshop is located on Riverside Avenue, a short walk from Werribee station and close to the Prince’s Freeway, making it nice and easy to get to. To make this journey with us even simpler, our courtesy car is available to be booked in advance whilst your car is being serviced with us.
